Conceptual Engineering Milestones (CEM) was designed by professionals with over 50 years of combined experience to open the minds of STEM students. Students explore a wide variety of career opportunities available in engineering, the steps to pursue these potential career choices, and an overview of the day-to-day life of an engineer across industry.

CEM engages students in conceptual and hands-on small-team projects, building skills and confidence, culminating in real-world simulated disaster recovery group projects. Students will broaden their STEM experience in this project-based laboratory by practicing key 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, public speaking, task management, teamwork, and effective communication.

I was inspired by the amount of growth I saw in each of the students, and I am confident that the skills these students learned will be valuable in their future education and careers.

The experiences students gain after completing any one of Stemi and Milestone C courses, will not only prepare them for a future career in a STEM field but, more importantly, for life.
