The Engineering Design Project (EDP) is centered around a hands-on hovercraft group project and experiential learning—to better equip students with technical knowledge, communication, and professional skills.

Students embark on the hovercraft design project gaining experience in electronics, mechanics, soldering, assembly, and testing prototypes. Students will complete a requirements analysis, milestone reviews, and schedule management by emulating a real-world engineering program. The project culminates with the students creating a complex, physical hovercraft of their design to meet program specifications and running detailed test programs. Students will benefit from the technical and soft skills acquired during this course for years to come, regardless of their chosen career path.
